MODULE DESCRIPTION:
This module deals with the application of fundamental design principles to the art of installing and art exhibition. Aspects such as balance, contrast, movement, rhythm, unity, focal point, emphasis and identity are considered.

Module 3.2: Exhibition Design Techniques

MODULE DESCRIPTION:
In this module the presentation of 2D, 3D, moving imagery and installations is considered. Framing and mounting of 2 D work are covered; the different options in presenting sculpture; what an installation in both an interior and an exterior venue entails; and the presentation of video productions and other moving imagery. We will consider white cube, black cube and no cube options.
What you will learn:
You will gain a good understanding of exhibition presentation standards.
You will acquire insight into the relationship of 2D artwork to its frame and mounting.
You will acquire knowledge about the presentation of sculpture, plinths, heights and the role of colour here.
You will gain an understanding of multimedia presentation and its idiosyncrasies.

It deals with the what, where, when, what, how of an exhibition proposal. We look at art industry standards for the compilation of an artist bio and an artist statement.
